Choosing a low-voltage power cable
VV (copper) and VLV (aluminium) low-voltage power cables carry AC distribution at 0.6/1 kV and below, from 1.5 to 400 mm². PVC insulation is rated for 70 °C continuous operation — when the circuit runs hot or needs more current in the same size, an XLPE cable rated for 90 °C is the better choice. Armoured VV22/VLV22 versions are available for direct burial.
