Africa holds 60% of the world's best solar resources yet accounts for only 1% of installed PV capacity. That gap is closing fast — and behind every panel, the cable must live as long as the module.
What a 25-year design life means
Solar farm financial models run on 25 years. If cable cracks after 10, replacement costs devour years of yield. The SHINE PV1-F series achieves longevity through a double-layer irradiation cross-linked polyolefin construction:
- Insulation and sheath cross-linked independently — two lines of defence
- Passes the -40°C to +120°C cycling demanded by EN 50618
- Resistant to ozone, acids, alkalis and microbial attack
Desert versus rooftop
A ground-mount plant on the Saharan fringe and a commercial rooftop in Lagos are different worlds. For the former we hardened the compound against sand abrasion; for the latter we tuned flexibility for tight-space routing.
The series now operates in plants across Kenya, Namibia and Morocco.
