Chinese cable designations look cryptic but follow a highly systematic code.

Decoding one type

Take YJV22-0.6/1kV 3×120+1×70:

  • YJ = XLPE insulation (Y = polyethylene, J = cross-linked)
  • V = PVC sheath
  • 22 = steel-tape armour + PVC outer sheath
  • 0.6/1kV = rated voltage
  • 3×120+1×70 = three 120 mm² phase cores + one 70 mm² neutral

Common series at a glance

  • B series (BV / BLVV / BVR): building wire — B = wiring, L = aluminium conductor, R = flexible conductor
  • YJ series (YJV / YJLV): XLPE power cable
  • JK series (JKLYJ / JKLGYJ): aerial insulated conductor — G = steel-cored
  • BTT series (BTTZ / BTTQ): mineral-insulated cable — Z = heavy duty, Q = light duty

When you inquire

Give us type + voltage class + core configuration + length + governing standard (GB or IEC) and we can quote precisely within 24 hours. If you only have local specifications (NF C, BS, SANS…), our engineers will do the cross-reference for you.
